Why I changed my perspective on hiring a professional model for my boudoir business | Athens, Ga boudoir studio

As a boudoir photographer in the industry for 5 years, I have constantly wondered what it would be like to work with a professional model. there were several reasons I didn’t think it was necessary, but I was curious. For one, I have photographed so many incredible and beautiful women that were paying clients. So why did I really need to hire someone? and secondly, I worried that If a client saw I photographed a model, they would assume my entire portfolio were all professional models therefor discouraging them from booking… But I did it anyway, I hired a professional model… and here is what I learned.

1) Picking the model

Once I saw several instagram reels, relatable tik tok videos, and unique professional photos from a model in Texas. I realized she was who I wanted to hire. when I saw she was advertising to come to Atlanta, Georgia, I knew I had to jump on it! I specifically chose her because I knew that she would bring diversity to my page. from skin color, hair type, her gorgeous curves and even her height. I wanted my clients viewing my socials to see diversity but also relatability in these photos. Picking the model gave me a sense of control by offering a new aesthetic to my socials and welcoming more women that may relate to her look.

2) Booking the model

Thankfully, Booking her was a breeze. She offered a link for an easy way to pick the time, date, and pay her booking fee. as well as a guide to several options to book her for multiple clothes changes and hours. She explained that I could bring my own lingerie if I wanted, but she would provide her own outfits, hair and makeup. All while discussing the aesthetic and vibe that I wanted for the shoot. Her communication was amazing and she explained that I could choose what wigs she would bring to wear and offered to help me find a desired location. This allowed me to get creative with someone who understood how my process works on a daily basis and offered to amplify the process with her own expertise.

3) Photographing the model

Arriving to the beautiful Atl shoot location, She had multiple selections of lingerie, wigs, makeup, and countless ideas to go along. offering me suggestions , yet giving me the lead for creative control. Here is one of the game changers to why I will forever suggest hiring a professional model.

Models Take the guess work out of everything and quite literally TEACh you new poses and ideas. If you think you have seen it all, you are in for a surprise. This model took me for a whirl wind of making every single pose count with a click of a button. Swift but calculated motions, allowing your entire rental time of the studio to be used to the fullest. This also allowed me to bring more pose direction back to my clients in my Athens studio.

4) posting the model

this is the most important part in my eyes and the number one reason I hired a professional model. I am paying for knowledge, professionalism, and creative freedom when I hire a model. MOST importantly Knowing without a shadow of a doubt that I can post to social media without hesitation. My Clients value seeing someone they can relate to or aspire to the vision. She not only modeled with lingerie, but she also modeled nude. Because this is such a intimate type of photography, hiring a model can take the guess work out of posting. Especially due to if your job, significant other, or other factors may hinder posting your art. I know just like me, you work really hard to show off your beautiful art and sometimes It just isn’t in the cards due to the nature of the session. However, Hiring a professional model for boudoir can truly give you the freedom and stress relief to be the artist you are meant to be. .. That is why I am so thankful I gave into curiosity and hired a professional model! 10/10 HIGHLY recommend!
