I think often times we do not realize that in our private moments when we are stripped down, hair is a mess, and are giving absolutely no care in the world. That is when we are the most beautiful.
our natural womanly desire is to try and be as perfect as we can be while striving to be as put together as humanly possible. So much so, that I feel we miss the moments in between as they pass us by. you criticize the photo of you laughing because your smile wasn’t to your standards, but your laugh was a moment of pure joy. you feel guilty while you enjoyed a yummy dessert with a loved one, but you shared priceless conversations at the table. If you take time to strip the moment down, you see there is no need to try to make it perfect. it already is, and so are you.
Putting your hair up, pulling on your shirt, stretching. You are the moment and you are what makes an image a true work of art. It’s the moments in between when you are just being you that make it true perfection.
Sometimes when we are searching for perfection we don’t even realize it is stemming from trying to control something in our lives we can’t control or trying to run from the past instead of dealing with it. Some of the best art is made from trying to express our deepest feelings and emotions, from letting go and capturing a story within you, Your story. I have been the artist, and I have been the art. In both cases I have come to realize that bringing all of my emotions, passion, and feelings in what I create, is a beautiful way to grow and heal.
the true take away here is to Remember to live your life with grace, not perfection. You are a walking work of art that has a story within you. that spark of emotion you feel is just waiting to be captured. every moment that you are alive is a life worth embracing. I always use photography as a way to truly express what I am feeling, even if I may not even know what that is yet. My heart is specifically in love with boudoir photography because it can spark a fire within you.
